With the November election fast approaching, you need to prepare how and when you will vote. The simplest way to be turned away from the polls is to have an expired voter registration, so you should check your registration as soon as possible.
Fortunately, every state makes it very easy to check your status or get a new voter registration online.
Simply go to vote.gov and select your state. It will take you to a page that allows you to enter in some personal information (depending on your state) and will let you know if you need to renew your voter registration.
It also has helpful information on deadlines, documents, and other resources to make sure your vote is counted on election day. As concerns grow about mail-in ballots, in-person voting, and malfunctioning polling stations, having an up-to-date voter registration is the first step in having a smooth voting process come November 3.
